What do you do with the people who came back?

The ones who were clinically dead, blind from birth, or unconscious on an operating table, and still described verifiable things they had no business perceiving. Issue I opens with the most visceral corner of consciousness research: documented cases from the study of near-death and out-of-body experiences. I'm not here to convince you of anything. I just want to show you that the mainstream account of mind has a problem it hasn't solved.
